Our Japanese Knotweed services

Management Plan

Our bespoke management plans are designed to meet planning conditions related to invasive plants, including Japanese Knotweed. These tailored plans provide a clear, adaptable approach to effectively address and manage any level of infestation.

Herbicide Treatment

Foliage Spraying: Specialist herbicide is applied directly to the plant’s foliage using advanced equipment for effective absorption and control.
Stem Injection: A targeted approach where the plant’s stem is injected with a specialised herbicide to reach the root system directly.

Dig, Sift, and Burial

Infested soil is carefully sifted on-site to separate and either bury invasive roots securely or remove them to a licensed landfill. The cleaned topsoil is then available for reuse on-site. To prevent regrowth, we implement a four-year herbicide spraying program or install a root barrier for long-term control.

Burial

Where space permits, Japanese knotweed is safely relocated and buried on-site, covered with a durable root barrier to prevent regrowth. A layer of clean subsoil or topsoil is then added to ensure lasting protection against re-infestation.

Excavation

Japanese Knotweed is carefully excavated, followed by the best management option for your site: off-site removal, on-site sifting and burial, or secure on-site burial.

Dig and Dump

Soil infested with Japanese Knotweed is carefully excavated and then transported by licensed carriers directly to a registered landfill, ensuring safe and compliant disposal.
