The Role

Due to our continued growth and client demand, we have the opportunity for a self-motivated individual for the position of Senior Geo-environmental Consultant working as part of our Ground Investigation team.  

As Senior Geo-environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for designing and carrying out complex ground investigations, producing and reviewing reports, quoting and project management of site investigations, and will also have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of networking experiences. 

The role requires direct contact with clients and regulators and involvement in varied and challenging projects within this growing division of our multidisciplinary consultancy. This is an opportunity to develop your technical skills and strategic and commercial capabilities in a unique company. You will play your part in the wider team, by supporting our client-side project management consultancy and land remediation contracting sections.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and signing off Phase 1 desk studies, reviewing Phase 2 site investigations, remediation strategies and validation reports. 
  • Undertaking complex Phase 2 site investigations, including supervision of contractors, and sampling and logging of exploratory holes. 
  • Technical report writing, including soil, gas and groundwater risk assessments, and remediation strategies to a high specification. 
  • Production of quotes and Project Management of site investigations, including SI design, budgeting, and use of financial system. 
  • Client and regulatory liaison. 
  • Business development, including building of own client list and retention of existing clients, attending networking events. 
  • Mentoring and training of junior staff. 

 


Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field such as geology, geography, environmental science, geophysics, or geochemistry. An additional higher degree may also be an advantage. 
  • 6-9 years’ consultancy experience.  
  • Commercial awareness of industry. 
  • High motivation for this specific opportunity. 
  • Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills. 
  • Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager’s requirements. 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Salary: £38,000 to £45,000 per year (dependant on experience)
