Manchester City Council – Japanese Knotweed

The LK Group was commissioned by Manchester City Council for the treatment of over 50,000m2 of invasive species, including Japanese knotweed and Giant Hogweed.
The Project
The project involves the survey, identification, mapping and treatment of Invasive Species within the northern and eastern parts of the city and the city centre itself.
The Solution
During lengthy discussions, we have jointly planned a remediation programme to attack Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed through a coordinated and strategic approach. Following initial treatment, either through foliar application or injection, we reassess the regrowth on an annual basis and amend our methodology to suit.
The Benefit
As part of a widespread and coordinated treatment programme, we are helping Manchester City Council to eradicate Invasive Species from land within their ownership. We are cutting costs by dealing with the problem in a holistic manner.
