Arrow Street | Ground Investigation & Land Remediation

LK Group was appointed by Caddick Construction to carry out comprehensive enabling works, ensuring the site was ready for construction in line with geotechnical, environmental, and arboriculture requirements.

The Arrow Street project transformed two vacant greenfield sites into a car park, 69 apartments, communal areas, and a GP surgery.

Key Challenges

• The site contained an uncertain quantity of reusable aggregate, making material planning and cost forecasting more complex.
• Working in a busy residential area requiring dust control.
• The ground needed to be cleared of underground obstructions and brought to a condition that met both geotechnical stability and chemical safety standards

Solution Provided

The site was systematically stripped, with all underground obstructions removed. Routine ground turnover ensured no remaining debris would hinder construction. Throughout the project, the prepared ground underwent rigorous geotechnical and chemical testing to ensure compliance with development standards. LK’s strategy focused on maximising recovery of site-won aggregates, which were then used in the construction of pile mats.
