We are happy to announce the appointment of Simon Leat, our new Regional Director for LK’s South West operations.
Leat’s appointment follows a period of significant growth for LK in the South West region, having recently been appointed for a £4 million framework with Dorset Council, delivering site investigation and materials testing services.
In his new role, Leat will lead the continued development and growth of our operations across the South West, focusing on expanding its client base, managing regional delivery, and supporting the firm’s national capabilities in ground investigation and environmental consultancy.
Bringing more than 36 years of experience in the ground engineering and environment sector, Leat’s expertise includes ground investigation, geotechnical design, remediation, and contamination assessment, as well as project management, procurement, and client liaison.
Leat began his career at the Property Services Agency, where he contributed to landmark projects, including the Windsor Castle Round Tower Stabilisation Project, and later spent several years with Soil Mechanics, where he served as a company regional lecturer on soil and rock description.
His appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in our regional presence and supporting infrastructure and development projects across the South West.
Conor Leyden, our Managing Director, said:
“Simon’s appointment marks another important step in our continued growth across the South West. His extensive experience in project management, procurement, and client liaison, combined with his deep technical ground engineering expertise, makes him an ideal fit to lead our regional operations. Simon will help us strengthen our delivery capability and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality, value-driven solutions for our clients across the region.”
Simon, also shared:
“I’m delighted to be joining The LK Group at such an exciting time for the business. The company’s growing presence in the South West demonstrates its strong technical reputation and commitment to supporting the region’s development. Having spent much of my career managing complex ground engineering projects and developing strong client partnerships, I’m looking forward to leading the regional team and expanding our client base across the South West.”
