The LK Group is happy to commence enabling works at Collyhurst Village, part of phase 1 of Manchester Victoria North. Additionally, it’s the North of England’s largest urban regeneration project.
The recently renamed Victoria North project master plan has been developed by Far East Consortium (FEC). Moreover, it’s a joint venture with Manchester City Council. The project aims to deliver 15,000 homes across 383 acres north of Manchester Victoria Station over the next 15 years.
This, in short, is the most extensive renewal project that Manchester has ever seen. Ultimately, it will address the current shortfall of housing in the area and connect the north of Manchester to the city centre.
In addition to the first phase of the new Collyhurst Village Park, the Collyhurst Village development will provide 244 new homes, with 100 designated as affordable. The remainder will also comprise a mix of 144 houses, catering for families, young professionals, and older residents.
The LK Group has already completed ground investigation consultancy works on the Collyhurst Village site. And we’re now commencing with the:
- enabling works;
- bulk earthworks, and;
- site remediation, including service disconnections and diversions.
Conor Leyden, managing director of The LK Group, said:
“It’s great to be getting underway with the first phase of Manchester Victoria North for our client, FEC. We are in an ideal position to deliver our technical expertise to this type of brownfield site, firstly as consultancy, de-risking the site ahead of planning and now as enabling contractor, ensuring that it is ready for development. We’re now looking forward to seeing the scheme really start to take shape.”
