Our experienced flood risk and drainage team of qualified engineers and environmental scientists will interpret potential constraints and provide you with a practical, cost-effective solution for your development.
Our structured guidance will steer you through potential flooding and drainage issues during the master planning process; from a quick ‘first opinion’ constraints report, to a flood risk assessment supported by hydraulic modelling of river flows.
The Planning Practice Guidance (PPG) of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) states that a Sustainable Drainage Strategy (SuDS) is required for all major developments, in order to validate a planning application. Our team of in-house technical experts are qualified to deliver these for you at outline level and beyond.
Why us?

- Cost effective solutions
- Professional technical experts
- Fast turnaround
- Advice through the planning process

Our Flood Risk Assessment and Sustainable Drainage Strategies (SuDS) can consist of one or more of the following:
Pre-development SuDS & Floods Appraisal
We will provide you with a due diligence summary report detailing what sources of flood risk (If any) may be present and whether further assessments are required.
Potential options for SuDS will be considered in the report.
Sustainable Drainage Strategy (SuDS)
We can develop a SuDS strategy for your development as a separate piece of work or in conjunction with your flood risk assessment.
Every major development will need one of these.
Level 1: Basic Flood Risk Assessment
This is a collection of risk maps, to identify a preliminary risk for your proposal.
Enables you to identify if you plot is within a Flood Zone.
Level 2: Flood Constraints Report
A scoping analysis of the flood risk constraints affecting your site.
It will inform you of potential risks to your development.
Level 3: Flood Risk Assessment
A detailed quantitative assessment of the flood risk to your site, which may include hydrological data. Consultation with all involved.
This is the level required to support a planning application.
What our Flood Risk Assessment and SuDS provide you with:
- The potential sources of flooding that may affect your development.
- Advice on measures to take to mitigate against flood risk on the development.
- Communications with statutory authorities to integrate their requirements.
- How SuDS management options accommodate within the development layout.
