My Property Survey Ltd approached The LK Group to conduct a comprehensive Weybridge site investigation. This included a Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessment (PRA) and a Phase 2 Site Investigation in Weybridge, Southwest London.
These investigations were crucial for the planned refurbishment of an existing commercial building. The building is primarily used for residential purposes. Additionally, the project involved constructing a new five-storey residential apartment block that would connect to the existing structure.

THE SOLUTION
Our Weybridge site investigation was tailored to address the specific needs of this mixed-use development. The initial Phase 1 PRA involved a detailed site walkover and desktop study to identify potential contamination sources, assess the environmental setting, and anticipate ground conditions. This phase helped us design a focused and cost-effective approach for the subsequent Phase 2 investigation.
For the Phase 2 Site Investigation, we performed utility service scans to ensure safe drilling locations, followed by window sample boreholes and dynamic probing to depths of up to 10 meters below ground level (mbgl). These activities were crucial for determining the soil’s bearing capacity and informing the foundation design for the new build. Additionally, soil samples were collected and analysed for contaminants, geotechnical properties and waste classification to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Our interpretative report provided a comprehensive set of recommendations. This included foundation design parameters, concrete classification requirements, waste disposal options, and contamination risk assessments.
